You've always wanted to hunt the monster coastal black bears you see on TV, well here's your chance! Prince of Wales Island is the premier black bear hunting destination in the Alaska, with 400+ bears harvested annually with many making the books. Guests are given the finest rental boats on the island and have access to hundreds of miles of shoreline for glassing and hunting. Hunting in April, May, and June can be done cruising shorelines and watching for bears foraging for food or a mate (bears breed in the spring). Some guests also like to have a vehicle while hunting on the island for cruising logging roads or setting bait stands, we can help arrange this as well. For a group of two, a rental car can be arranged at current rental rates (usually $80-100 per day). Groups of three or larger will be provided with a vehicle at
no extra cost. We also provide an open skiff for hunters who want to travel to other parts of the island to hunt. Each group will have private living quarters with full access to the amenities of the main lodge. Guests are welcome to fish as well.
